Hot Dogs & Hustle: Michael Evans

I have known Mr. Michael Evans founder of 

HOT DOG HEAVEN 

since childhood... 

and he has ALWAYS embodied this quote...

Someone posted this on Mike's Facebook page and he responded by saying...

Michael Evans-Bey I was telling them ima be the "King of hotdog game in Lexington" in 20 years! Lol!!

Man finds calling selling hot dogs

 

So needless to say we all knew that Michael had a dream to 

own his own business 

and the willingness to hustle 

and over the years he has had a number of business ventures

(for a while it seemed like every time I saw him he was working on something different)

I admire his creativity!

When I look at Mike...I think about my cousin (his childhood friend) who is no longer with us. I miss him and sometimes wonder who or what he would have become? And while I worry about the employment opportunities (or lack thereof) in our community...

 Mike gives me hope!  

He could have easily gone in a number of dubious directions 

but he chose this path instead...

He takes pride in cooking and serves with swagger and a smile. He has the best hot dogs around and in addition to serving at functions like today's LHCDC Veterans Assistance event...

he hosts his own community events and travels for 

business and pleasure. 

 Customers from all walks of life seek him out for his invention

The famous Lex-O-Dog 

I keep telling him that 

I want to be like him when I grow up. 

The Dream might be free...but the Hustle is definitely sold separately.
